Start Up Blog No.6 – The next generation

Watching Sky Brown win Bronze in Women’s Park Skateboarding in the early hours of this morning, I was in awe of the next generation. The skate park has been arena of bravery, sportsmanship and youth. Last week Momiji Nishiya of Japan & Rayssa Leal of Brazil, delivered a masterclass, winning Gold & Silver in Women’s Street Skateboarding. All of these women are 13 years of age. They stand on the podiums as the youngest Olympians of all time.

Starting Bowland & Bay, so many folks thought Artisan Foodie Adventure would be for an older visitor experience. What has blown me away is the passion for food from teenagers. There is a generation of kids watching Great British Bake Off & Masterchef, who visit farmers markets and food fairs, love their favourite cold brew and gelato. Talking food with 11-18 year olds, they know what they like and are thrilled by new places and tastes. The next wave of food innovation will come from these folks. For them independence, self-determination, artisan quality and low carbon footprint matters.

Listen to their dreams and help them fly.
