The Northcote Historic Homes & Gardens tour, starts from Northcote reception at 10:30 and returning at approx. 3:30pm.
Delve into over 1000 years of history & architecture, as we travel together along the Ribble Valley and the Forest of Bowland AONB.
Our 10:30 start from Northcote, takes us over the river Ribble and through Roman Ribchester. Then onto the long driveway, past 16th Century Stoneyhurst College, where your guide & driver Katie will link the literary legends to this magnificent Gothic landmark.
Our first stop will be Browsholme Hall. To meet the 15th generation of the Parker family for an introduction to Lancashire’s oldest historic family home. Stop will also include a light home cooked brunch at the Cart Shed Tea Room.
We then travel on through the centre of the kingdom via Inn at Whitewell and Dunsop Bridge. Part of the Duchy of Lancaster for 750 years and King Charles III pub.
We head through the stunning Hodder Valley to Holden Clough Nurseries. Opened in 1927, now owned by RHS Gold Medal winners John & Kate, there is the opportunity to pick up a plant or three. Stop includes tea & cakes in the newly reopened & delicious Reading Room.
We finish the grand tour with a Victorian cotton mill, below the Norman castle and Bowland’s brewery and gin distillery. Stop includes either a local beer flight or refreshing G&T. Opportunity to shop for take home local specialities in the Food Hall.
Alongside the deliciousness, Bowland & Bay provide:
- Luxury transport for up to 8 guests in Mercedes-Benz Tourer.
- History, landscape and nature photo opportunities.
- Sensory retail stop offs for pantry & hearth gifts.
- Foodie chats and legendary tales of Bowland & Bay.
We look forward to meeting fellow explorers to join the adventure.
