Start Up Blog No.1 – do what you love.

So many of us dream of creating a Start Up enterprise. Have filled notebooks with ideas. Bantered over pub tables the pros and cons. Lay awake at night wondering what if. For 30 years that was me.

2020 was a catalyst year for so many folks. For me it was seismic, everything left the ground in slow motion. All my anchors, tore away and despite the feeling of being all at sea, at last the choice of  destination was mine, time to stop dreaming. I grabbed what mattered and built a plan around what I love: meeting new people, working with the best food and drink suppliers, showcasing the hidden beauty on our doorsteps in the UK.

Sometimes fate takes you where you need to go. In September I took a couple of friends, who previous to that day did not know each other, we went on an unexpected adventure across Lancashire & Cumbria. Touring coffee merchants, cheese shops, breweries, farm shops and beautiful countryside. In our chats over food & drink, we became a mini tribe , we told out stories of lockdown and life. Reconnecting over food, fresh from the source, whilst exploring the landscape. This taps deep into our hunter gatherer DNA. For me it feeds some part of our humanity. Certainly meeting over 100 artisan local suppliers in the last 10 months, my sense of  joining a tribe only gets stronger.

Today I set off into the blue…of the bay and the green of Bowland, excited to bring folks together old friends and new fellowships (micro food tourism with a tiny green footprint, for up to 8 people). Welcome to the Northern taste bud Revolution. Full and half day adventures await from 1st July 2021, I can’t wait to meet you all.
